Here’s the link to the R.eaders I.mbedding P.eril, VIII Challenge! I just love this challenge…for it has come to signify fall, which is a season that I so enjoy, the colors, the smells, the temperatures, the sounds. Good times!
What to read…what to read?! For certain, I know I am reading Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (can you believe I have never read this one?), for our school’s drama department’s fall show is based on this classic. Wonder if I might get a group read started here at school? That would be a great activity to host with students and teachers, alike.
I also want to sign up for the group read of The Historian, which I bought a few years ago at the recommendation
of a former student, who proclaimed it much better than The Twilight series. Thus, this one sets waiting for me to immerse myself within its pages…yay!
Two young adult series that I read have new releases in September (Michael Vey series by Richard Paul Evans) and October (Divergent series by Veronica Roth). I have students reading both series right now…both very good!
In our media center orientation, the media specialist recommended Anna Dressed in Blood (another series)…sounds interesting and is setting in my Amazon Shopping Cart. A paranormal romance, this will be a new genre for me. Also setting in my shopping cart is Horns, a novel that is coming to the big screen, starring Harry Potter…ooppps, I mean Daniel Radcliffe.
Hummmm…choices, choices, choices! Plus, one just has to read some of Edgar Allen Poe’s poetry…or you do if you are in my English classes!
What novels, short stories, or movies are making it to your list?
